Sindelfingen – always worth a visit

Modern residential areas contrast with the numerous historical and cultural sights Sindelfingen has to offer. St. Martin’s church (11th century) is an outstanding example of Romanesque architecture and art. In the old quarters of the town you will not only find the impressive old town hall (now an interesting municipal museum) but also beautifully renovated half-timbered houses and, quite unique, a fountain dedicated to two gossiping chatter boxes. The completely refurbished “Stadthalle” with its facilities and sophisticated technical equipment is an excellent conference and congress centre. National and international sports events take place in the so-called “Glass Palace”.

With the Black Forest being not far away, Sindelfingen is located just about 18 km to the southwest of Stuttgart, the state capital of Baden-Württemberg. Sindelfingen has a population of about 60 000 and it is the largest town in the administrative district of Böblingen. Many companies – from medium-sized businesses to well-known global players like Daimler AG – have settled in Sindelfingen providing 61.000 jobs altogether. Each year internationally renowned fairs take place in the exhibition hall “Messe Sindelfingen” and attract a growing number of visitors.
